Slingshot

The first slingshot was created by Armando Gaviglia in 1954 when he was 10 years old. Since then the collection has been enriched.

The Slingshots are unique because they have particular characteristics and recreate places, cultures, emotions, intuitions and fragments of the artist’s life.

Armando is just a channel through which the tree tells the story locked in its crust and whimsical structures.

The slingshot forks have been carved from the most diverse places in the world. They are a reflection of the real exuberant, that sometimes has no name and is hidden to our senses.

If you want to know the essence of the slingshot, we recommend you to read these texts from its creator: Slingshot’s Soul by Armando Gaviglia.

Libros Recreados
Recreated books

The books are objects with soul and energy. This energy comes from the authors and readers, and also of all who have lived in their presence. Armando Gaviglia enters in the book’s soul, and he captures and rescues her from a certain death.

In a sensitive and recreational way, he confers new life to abandoned books, he refreshes them, re-creating and transforming it into a message of hope and awareness.

The stairs are recurrent, these are penetrating, up or down, entering or leaving, carved into the stuff of books recreated, symbolizing the continuous motion and change in our lives.

The recreated books reflect the thoughts and emotions of each new moment as the truth itself. Stairs present in each book recreated us to search for unknown levels of consciousness and ask us: Where are we? Where do we go?

los Cepillart
The brush-art

Toothbrushes are everyday objects that have accompanied us since our early childhood. Toothbrushes are every day friends, almost invisible in the corner waiting for a moment to come out and be useful.

Toothbrushes are those little things, to which we pay little attention but we notice their importance when they are out of hand.

To rescue the expressive possibilities of toothbrushes, Armando Gaviglia creates the brush-art. This is an attractive collection of used brushes, transformed into something else.

A brush-art is more than a used toothbrush, it is a miniature work of art composed of different materials: plastics, buttons, pieces of toys, pens, erasers and a thousand pieces. They are objects that go beyond imagination, with an ironic touch of humor and a lot of sincerity.
